I live in the Oakridge section of Toms River. We have not had power since 5 pm Monday. I can do without the power however we have a pole one block away that is hanging in the street with all of it's wires. Verizon has replaced the pole but the top half of the old pole still hangs there in the street. The traffic has not been properly diverted as people are blowing thru the cones and almost hitting the pole! I guess when someone hits this it will become a priority. The PDF list of when people will gets power can not be right based on my walk through of this neighborhood. We have not seen one power truck of any kind. Any trees being cut down seem to be the responsibility of the home owner! Power does,t seem to be in the cards this weekend.

Glad JCP&L is dedicated to customer service. I tried to call today to talk to a live person about a power problem that is not an option on their automated system only to get recording that I was calling outside normal business hours and that there were no representatives on duty to talk to.

This location must have been hit pretty bad. I am almost certain there would be no power and the person would have had mandatory evacuation. I have been checking in on people for loved ones, but this area would be blocked by police. I have had great success by calling the non-emergency police #'s for the town that people are in. They have been able to provide updates on residents or check ins to make sure they are OK. Call Brick non-emergency # 732-262-1100. They will need address and names of people. All my prayers that you are reunited with your loved one.

I also live in the Oak Ridge PKWY area. Haven't seen one JCP&L truck yet. The only thing I dont like about not having electricity is not having heat! It is only 42° in my house & getting colder.

Diana;
Garbage has been suspended until further notice. Dumpsters have been placed at some of the Schools (Brick Memorial High School) for your household trash. Recycling has to be taken to Ridge Road.

Compliments to Point Pleasant police - Boro and Beach. I emailed Boro seeking info on a relative. In less than half hour Boro chief re-directed it to Beach Police. Forty-five minutes after that I had a welfare check on my relative. Thank you for your prompt work - even for non-resident. Best wishes for you all to pull through.

Manchester has 75% with power and about 25% (5,000 customers) without still.

I believe Toms River is in worst shape...almost 50% with and 50% without.

Half of drum point still w/o power since monday. Would love to know specifics of progress and order to which power is restored. Specifics as to where trucks are working and what is the priority they're working. Not that 10% of brick outages has had power restored in 6 days.

Why havent I seen any comments from our always vocal Mayor and Council here in Brick? Not surprising yet totally disappointing! These are the times we as residents get to see who the real leaders are.

I saw a JCPL truck in the Holiday City section of Toms River (near Yorktowne Blvd) this morning. Hoping we're winning the power lottery today. Everyone stay warm!

OK day 6 and still no power. Streets on both sides of me have power but not our street. Have not seen a JCPL truck in my Brick neighborhood since storm started. Have seen Comcast around and have cable. House getting cold, even though sun is out.

After coming home from helping a friend clean out her post sandy home, there was a convoy of electrical trucks heading into the Oakridge section of TR. These men were from Southern Georgia and they could not have been nicer. Thanks to all the hard working utility workers! Maybe there will be heat tonight. Bless all my friends .

Any update on the Bay Bridge neighborhood in Brick? Power has been restored to the surrounding area, but not here yet. Call JCP&L & they can't tell you anything. If its going to be a few days, just come out & say something. Temps are dropping & with no power or heat have to start worrying about the pipes.

Again I am writing about Bay Bridge village in Brick. Is there a possibility that we are our for 2 more weeks due to sub station problems. If so verify so we know that. Can the municipal office verify and post for us to know.

All of Princeton avenue is sitting in the pitch black. I spoke to a person on Friday who said the earliest would be Wednesday. It could be 7-10 additional days once they get to the substation to see damage. Also said we had a massive amount of lines down. She mantaloking road would be 7-10 days due to the Number of downed poles. Where are the leaders of our community in all of this? Any word from them on estimated dates of power restoration?

It's weird but I have parital power. Only my living,dining & bedroom outlets work. I'm very grateful that I have at least some power and my uncle (a retired electrician) was able to switch my heat pump to a circut that works but it's really weird having only half power when all my neighbors are back up to full power. Does anyone else out there have this going on too?
