Last Show Today: Annie Hits the Stage in Tuckerton This Afternoon
Young Barnegat actress, who has also played on Broadway, stars as the famous red head
Barnegat's own Broadway baby Brigid Harrington will take to a stage right in Tuckerton today, starring as the lead role in Annie.
The 12-year-old actress, singer and dancer is already enjoying a well-rounded career. Harrington's voice can be heard every day on the Disney Channel's hit animated series - Chuggington - as "Koko."
Harrington has lit up the stage in many theatrical productions, including her recent six-month run on Broadway, as Jane Banks in Mary Poppins. However, she said she is thrilled with the opportunity to be able to perform locally.

In an email to the Barnegat Patch earlier this week, Harrington wrote: "I hope you could do a story on this show so the people in my town know they can see me in this show." In an interview with Patch, she said she knows it can be difficult for people in this area to get into New York City to see shows, so she is happy to share some of that New York experience right here.
Jessica Evans, who is the producing artistic director and founder of the Bellarine Theatre Company, based in Tuckerton, said the theatre is very excited to perform this musical.

Evans said she is impressed with the wealth of talent in the musical, and noted that this show is unlike others in that the cast is mainly children.
"We have about 100 people on set, and everyone is working very hard," Evans said. The musical is based on the popular comic strip, which details the life of little orphan Annie, a girl living during the Great Depression who dreams of escaping the clutches of the evil Miss Hannigan and gets an opportunity to do so with billionaire Daddy Warbucks.
A show will be held at 2 p.m. today. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and $8 for children and seniors.
