VIDEO: Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light Recognized

Presentation followed an informational tour.

About 40 team members of the Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light gathered yesterday to hear about the station's history, and be recognized for the work they do every day.

Capt. Kathy Moore, the commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia, yesterday presented Barnegat Light station’s crew with the Sumner I. Kimball Award, which recognizes the achievement of high readiness of shore unit boats and personnel through an inspection of vessel conditions and survival systems, performance of underway drills, and examination of unit training programs.

The presentation followed an informational tour, where members of the Coast Guard toured very spots around Long Beach Island, N.J., and discussed the area’s rich nautical history.
