Officials with the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry reported on Friday that the picnic area at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is now reopened.

In a statement on their Facebook page, officials wrote: "The area still needs some work but the public can access the sidewalk and picnic tables at this time."

The statement then went on to acknowledge the maintenance staff and staff from Bass River State Forest who worked together to get the area reopened.

Picnic tables are located along Barnegat Inlet where visitors can picnic, relax, and observe the waterway.
