BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Man Charged with Theft of Storm Grates
Man took the grates from Ocean Acres section.
A 24-year-old Mananahwkin man has been charged with two counts of theft in connection with the theft of five storm grates in Barnegat Township.
Police said Bryan Johnson, 24, took the grates from the area of Mutineer Avenue and Four Mile Avenue in the Ocean Acres section of the township.
The grates were taken on September 29th and October 11th. An investigation into the thefts determined that the grates had been sold to an area recycling business, which led Detective William Hetrick to Johnson.
Johnson was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.
