BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Two Arrested and Charged With Heroin

Police said they observed a hand-to-hand transaction on West Bay Avenue; seized 42 decks of heroin.

Two Southern Ocean County residents have been arrested and charged with heroin possession and other offenses following an investigation on Oct. 18.

Around 7:30 p.m. on October 18th, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested and charged Christopher Fix, of Manahawkin, and Wendy Schoeneberg, of Waretown, on drug charges after observing a hand-to-hand transaction that took place in the parking lot of the Wawa located at 945 West Bay Avenue, police said.

The arresting officers were in the area on an unrelated matter when they observed the transaction take place, according to Barnegat Police Lt. Keith Germain. The subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of 42 decks of heroin (pictured), some of which Schoeneberg allegedly had just sold to Fix and others Schoeneberg allegedly had retained in her possession.

Fix was charged with possession of heroin. Schoeneberg was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Both subjects were released on their own recognizance pending a court date.

Looks like the Herron is in high demand once again being they are finally cracking down on the doctors and pill mills handing out OxyContin like it is candy. This drug leads to two places and only two places jail or a persons grave. Wake the hell up and stop being so selfish. You not only destroy your own life but you destroy the lives of those who love and care for you.

ROR doesn't seem like the Judge is taking the offense seriously. 42 decks of heroin wuth intent to distribute should call for cash bail.

They flip them for future use. Seriously though how many snitches are needed? Jail time "might" send a message instead of letting anyone to deal another day.

They need to change the law and charge by the bag instead of by weight. 5 years per bag might make you think twice if 10 bags was a life sentence.
