BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Two Juveniles Arrested for Drugs
Surveillance conducted because of citizen complaints
On September 5th at 7:13 p.m., members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested two male teenagers from Barnegat for drug related offenses.
Barnegat police were conducting a surveillance in the area of the Crosswinds development on Bayshore Drive in response to citizen complaints of drug activity. During the surveillance, officers observed 17-year-old distribute marijuana to a 16-year-old.
The 17-year-old, whom police did not identify because of his age, was charged with possession with intent to distribute less than 1 ounce of marijuana, distribution of less than 1 ounce of marijuana, and possession of marijuana less than 50 grams. The 16-year-old was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.
Both juveniles were released to their parents pending juvenile court appearances.
