A 22-year-old Barnegat woman was arrested last week in connection with a road accident and, while she was being treated for injuries, assaulting staff members at Southern Ocean County Hospital, police said.

Kathryn Magee, 22, of Barnegat was charged with charged with DWI and three counts of aggravated assault, police said.

On February 26th at 3:22 p.m., Ptl. Nicholas Venuto found Magee's 1997 Acura had left the roadway while traveling northbound, and struck a utility pole at the intersection of Route 9 and Gunning River Road.

Upon further investigation, Ptl. Venuto determined that Magee was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Magee was transported to SOCH, where she was treated for her injuries. During her treatment, Magee assaulted three of the hospital's staff members, police said.

Magee was also issued summonses for DWI and failure to maintain lane, police said.
