Wednesday marks the first day of spring this year, and also a small break from recent cold weather. But only for a day, and not by much.
So, if you need to cool off from what the National Weather Service predicts will be a sunny day with a 47 degree high temperature, Rita's Italian Ice locations are offering a free treat.
From 12 to 9 p.m., as the company has done for the past 20 years, all Rita's locations are giving away free Italian ice to celebrate the first day of spring.
Manahawkin Rita's is located at 50 West Bay Avenue.
Last year, the company said that more than 1.2 million cups of Italian ice were given away in a ten hour period.
Once Thursday rolls around, snow is possible before 9 a.m. and the high temperature will reach 40. It will be cloudy, and rain is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Thought it looked a little busy over there around 3pm when I passed by. That sure is nice of them to do that every year. Other companies should do this kind of thing maybe home depo can give out 2x4s to peaple affected by sandy then again 2x4s dont taste that good. anonymous
