FEMA Hosts Information Fair at St. Mary's
Representatives from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and others will attend.
FEMA will host a Town Hall Information Fair on Saturday, February 16th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Fair will be located at the St. Mary's Community Center, behind St Mary's Church, 100 Bishop Rd (off Mckinely Ave) in Stafford Township.
FEMA will have several entities (including representatives from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and Advisory Base Flood Elevation programs, along with others) available for residents/business owners to sit down with and get answers to questions regarding grants, house raising, flood elevation levels and more.
There will also be representatives from area towns to answer questions.

I hope mayor Spodofora from Stafford is not one of the local officials trying to answer questions. He has given much FEMA misinformation over the last few months, only adding to everyones frustrations.

I hope that for residents that can't attend can still get information about the grants available. Please place all important information on the township website or even here. Thanks

From what I saw on channel 22 council session
there was not much meat on the bone ...
perhaps advised not to venture out too far
as County and and township ALL were on for
the development ... fact is the Beach Haven
West could not be approved by state DEP
it was all built upon
1- Install bulkheads,
2- pump out the bay water.
3- Fill in the land.
4- Build cheap inexpensive homes
that would entice buyers at $500-
$50-month mortage
5- Under $300- per year for property
taxes.
A plan destined for destruction based upon
state and county approvals for such a venture.

Guess all that wanted to be on the WATER
got their wish ... lagoons and complaints of
silt were all part of the mess for many years ...
recall the owner who had a beached yacht
due to being shut in due to silt and poor
if any maintenance of the lagoons ...

2006 Tax Records showed about 6,000 residents
in Stafford-Beach Haven West are summer home
residents ... taxation without representation.
Unless you registered and lived the required time
in your SUMMER HOMES, you cannot benefit from
FEMA coverage ...
Advised by a litigator that those who lost should
form a class-action law suit against those who were
complicit in the County, State and local municipal
approvals for these type of homes ...

TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
COMES TO MIND ...
REMEMBER A COUNCIL WOMAN'S
RECOMMENDATION YEARS AGO ...
TO RUN A BAKING SALE ...
GREAT IDEA??? FROM A FORMER
NOW COUNTY OFFICIAL ...

The council woman was on The Block Team ...
suggested to Ocean Acres Flood residents to run
a bake sale fund raiser ...
she has gotten a solid County position ...
That was when Carl Block called that storm
a 500- year storm ... based upon his high
school education not facts or data ...
be watchful over who advises what?
Bet they were advised by their lawyer to
not go out on the limb ...
these kind of pure politicians can only
promise nothing except empty baseless
words without any foundation ...
cannot believe how little information
was provided ... Sandy is how old ...
home owners have gotten what???
and from whom ???

Even that windbag who is our governor
has nothing to provide jokes on Letterman
while residents throughout New Jersey
are beached ... not knowing what they
can do or should do?

I thought of the same point ...
Star Ledger was there and interviewed
a woman about the delay and time
or action by government and FEMA...
SHE SAID CHECK WITH US IN 6-MONTHS ...
know they were mobbed and very slow process
with answering those who had questions ...
as usual not much promise except "be patient
and things will be done"
HA BY WHO?????
