Harvey Cedars Slated for Replenishment Project
Beach badge prices, lifeguard hours
Harvey Cedars is one of many island towns slated to have some of its beachfront restored by the Army Corps of Engineers this summer.
Although an exact date has not been set yet for the project, Diane Dale, Municipal Clerk, said that at some point between early June and August, 1,000 feet of beachfront along Harvey Cedars will be closed for a replenishment project following Superstorm Sandy.
Despite certain areas being closed, town officials are encouraging everyone to pick up an early seasonal beach badge for the warm weather that is just around the corner.
Seasonal passes are $40, but if you get them before June 15 this year, you can get a seasonal for $30, according to the town's website. Senior citizens, ages 65 and older, may get a seasonal pass for $9. Weekly badges also are offered at a rate of $20. There is a day rate of $6.
