The Long Beach Island Region will be layered with chocolate-covered specials for all to enjoy this week, as the popular winter event Chocolate Week has returned.
Officials with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce note the event will include specials, discounts and deals to encourage Valentine’s Day getaways, unique family winter breaks or President's Day visitors.
"Start planning your 2013 with confidence that the LBI Region is ready and waiting post Sandy," Lori A. Pepenella, who is the Destination Marketing Director for the Long Beach Island Region DMO, said in a prepared statement.
Some long-time favorites are back, such as vacation rental open houses, which are complimented by chocolate kisses, a Chocolate Cooking Class Weekend at Minerva’s Bed and Breakfast by the Sea, free fudge demos and sampling at Country Kettle Fudge.
Some new and exciting twists this year include a complementary Hot Cocoa Chocolate Bar for guests checking into the Engleside Inn, chocolate dessert at Pinzimino Tratoria, and Tuckerton Seaport Cupid’s Chocolate Covered Arrow Murder Mystery Dinner Show.
Classes, discounts and events are being added daily, so follow LBI Region on Facebook or check out updates at www.visitLBIRegion.com. The Southern Ocean County Chamber Visitor Center is open year round at 265 West Ninth Street in Ship Bottom or contact them by phone at 609 494 7211.
