The utility providers for both Barnegat and Manahawkin are currently reporting more than 3,400 homes without power as storms continue to wreak havoc in the area.
As of 5 p.m., Jersey Central Power & Light is reporting 1,733 customers without power in Barnegat, while Atlantic City Electric estimates 1,716 homes are dark in Manahawkin.

My electric supplier, up until early 2007 was PSE&G. We started with JCP&L in January of 2007 after moving to Warren County. The very first few days with JCP&L brought power outages, continuing once or twice every few months. Then our move to Ocean County, and again we have JCP&L. It doesn't matter where in the state you live, if your supplied by JCP&L, get used the the power outages. This company has to be the absolute worst in customer satisfaction ratings.
