Outages Reported Throughout Southern Ocean

Police and fire were responding to downed trees and power limbs

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire crews in Barnegat were responding to downed tree limbs and power lines, and several areas throughout Southern Ocean County were reporting power outages following storms that ripped through the area.

Atlantic City Electric reported about 50 customers were without power in the Ocean Acres area. Jersey Central Power and Light were also reporting power outages in Lacey and Barnegat Townships.

The rain is expected to last through Tuesday night, with the strong winds winding down by Wednesday, while the showers are likely to continue. The temperature will also start to lower on Wednesday with a high around 71 predicted for the day.

Once this storm passes, the rest of the week should be nice again, with sunny weather and highs in the 70s until at least Friday.
