Readers' Choice Results: Opinions Mixed on Family-Friendly Restaurants
Majority of respondents select 'other'
Results are mixed on the most family-friendly restaurant in the Barnegat area.
This week we asked readers to rate the best place to take the kids to eat, resulting in a handful of votes each for several fast food chains. However, "other" was the decided winner, with 28 of 47 votes, or 59 percent of responses.
Each week we'll be asking readers to rate their favorite places, so check back each Monday morning for a new poll!
Editor's Note: Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Official rules for the Readers' Choice Poll are attached to this story.

Seriously? 6 examples of the worst food in America? This is how we raise our children? i certainly hope not. Every diner in the area and even El Tenampa have crayons and placemats with word searches.

That's the problem with Barnegat...not a decent restaurant to be found...wake up planning board...time to lure some decent restaurants to the area along with a few decent supermarkets!!

Thank you for not listing Olive Garden ...
faux food being Italian they are the worse.
With all the fine Italian Restaurants in the area,
they have to be kidding?

It would be nice to have some nice, local places to eat. I hate having to drive far to get a decent meal. It's a shame Barnegat has a chance to be great yet the planning board doesn't appear to be attracting any new businesses for families.

I was hoping to see some restaurants listed where I could take grand kids. What a disappointment! These are fast food chains and not what most would consider as restaurants.

Why are Sonic, Wendy's and TGIF on this list when this exact question is poised in the article:
"We want to know where is that place for you in the Barnegat area?"
Those 3 places listed are not even in Barnegat. The voting is skewed... Fix it. If you're asking about where folks go to eat in BARNEGAT, then the poll should only contain Barnegat establishments. ?????
This is an early April Fools gag, right?

Hi, everyone. Please note the word "area" in the phrase "Barnegat area." Yes, we look in Barnegat, but many local residents venture beyond the immediate township's borders for a meal as well, so we include establishments from the surrounding towns also. However, having said that, we posted this poll on the morning of my first day as the site's editor. Since then I have thought of a couple of other places we could have included. This poll closes tomorrow and I am seriously considering re-doing it in the weeks to come. Thank you!!!

Also, in the comment section, feel free to throw out other restaurant names for the "other" category (which is winning by far). What are some places you'd take your kids to around here?
Thank you again!

So true, we could use a few nice eating places in Barnegat, But as you all know there are a few in Barnegat that is not to bad, Doyles, Leftys, Sweet Jennys. Just for a point of information, its not the planning board job to go out and get new shops in Barnegat. Hope everyone is enjoying this great weather we are having.

You can't go wrong going to Lefty's for a good meal. Great food and friendly
atmosphere.
