UPDATE: Schools Close in Stafford, Barnegat in Preparation for Hurricane Sandy

Southern Regional and Barnegat High Schools serve as evacuation shelters.

 

Due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy, school has been cancelled for Monday, Oct. 29th in several area schools.

Closures have already been announced from:

Barnegat School District;

Southern Regional School District;

Stafford School District; and

All Saints Regional Catholic School.

Southern Regional High School serves as an evacuation shelter for Long Beach Island and Stafford. Residents of LBI are under a mandatory evacuation as of noon today, as are residents of parts of Stafford.

According to both the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and Atlantic Cape Community College websites, the colleges will be closed from Sunday, Oct. 28-Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to the approach of the storm.

Patch will add more schools to this list as announcements are made.
