Speedway Raises Funds for Family of Scott Doty
Entire crowd rose during lap four of the race, in Doty's honor
The New Egypt Speedway honored Scott Doty this past weekend by hosting a race that will benefit his children.
Doty's entire family was there and his "Motley Crew." On the fourth lap of the race, the crowd stood in tribute to Doty's memory, holding four fingers over their heads for the entire lap.
Colleen Doty Shive, Doty's sister, told the Patch: "the fundraiser was a success, but more importantly it was a beautiful tribute for an amazing man. I would also like to mention New Egypt Speedway and how amazing the management was to us, along with their fans."
The winner of the Crate-1 Sportsman Scott Doty Memorial, Frank Dorry of Ringoes, donated his winnings to the family.

Thank you all for your love and support and to those who attended the race or simply just made a donation, it has meant so much to our family. I hope you all visit New Egypt Speedway and speak of my brother, bring your children and tell them how you knew a great man who raced out there and loved every second of it. Continue to be kind to one another and live by Actions Speak Louder than Words and we can all keep Scott alive in all of us. Thank you all so much.
