A car accident on the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township sent one man to the hospital earlier this afternoon.

A state patrolman, who noted he was not the investigating officer, confirmed the accident in which a car collided with a tree adjacent to the Parkway.

He declined to give further details, but said no parties were seriously injured. He said the driver was walking around and inspecting the car shortly after the accident.

State police said the driver was taken to the hospital as a "precautionary measure."
