Weekend Weather: The Nearly Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

A slight chance of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday afternoon can't be ruled out, but other than that, the weekend is looking pretty good.

To conclude a lovely week we have been enjoying weather-wise, we're heading into a beautiful Memorial Day weekend to usher in summer in just the right way.

National Weather Service meteorologists predict partly sunny skies and high temperatures, with a small chance of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday the only thing spoiling the pretty picture.

"There is just a slight chance right now of rain on Sunday, mainly in the afternoon, and the same thing on Monday," said meteorologist Valerie Meola. "It's certainly a small chance, but we can't rule it out."

Meola said to expect partly sunny skies today, with highs around 84. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, a high around 77, and Monday partly sunny with a high of 80.
