Manahawkin Elections Update: Write-In Candidates for Mayor, Council
Two independents will challenge current Republican mayor, along with a Democratic candidate.
After uncontested primaries in Manahawkin, the general election is turning into even more of a contest than anticipated, as several write-in candidates for mayor and council tossed their hats in the ring yesterday.
According to the Ocean County Clerk's office, Paul Marchal of Jennifer Lane in Manahawkin and Thomas J Litwin will compete with current mayor John Spodofora, a Republican, and his Democratic opponent Joseph Rua for the mayoral seat in Stafford in November.
Four other township council write-ins will face incumbents William Stephen Fessler, Henry Mancini and Robert Kusznikow and newcomers Sharon McKenna, Lori Wyrsch and Paul Krier, all Republicans, running on the same team, who were already on the ballot.
The new candidates, running together under the banner "We Are Stafford" along with Paul Marchal for mayor, are:
- Joanne Sitek of David Drive
- David J. Taylor of Coral Lane
- Esther M. Libenschek of Topsail Lane
- Ben H. Pieper of Atlantis Avenue
- Christopher J McManus of Leeward Road
- Brian White of Atlantis Avenue
The candidates list is unofficial, as names can be challenged for four days after the filing deadline, which was at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
In Barnegat, where Mayor Al Cirulli running with Township Committeman Jeffrey Melchiondo will face newcomer Democrats Elaine Tayor and Susan Conway in November, there were no write-in candidates so far.

I understand they are on the ballot LINE-C
this November 6th ... follow their town meetings
at the Ocean Acres Community Center ...
Tuesday September 25th 7PM
Tuesday October 23rd 7PM
I totally support this non-partisan
team formed by a group who wants
to work for their township and to
overcome the many years of a
polarized team --- The Block Team
who have formed yet a solid
team of hand picked Ocean County
cooperatives ... regular local residents
who appear to have worked studied
what has been going on in Stafford ...
one key issue is the huge LONG TERM
TAX EXEMPTION LAW & RENEWAL
ENTITIES PROVIDED THE WALTERS
GROUP ... read the law? Defined as URBAN
RENEWAL ENTITY as a limited entity or nonprofit
entity. These entities undertake redevelopment
projects in both Commercial and Residential,
relocation projects for residents displaced by
development in the area ...
funny but I do not recall seeing or hearing of
any person or persons who were living
in Stafford Township's illegal dumping grounds?
Perhaps some Pine Snakes who were not
bothering a single person in town?
Mind you the Long Term Tax Exemption Law
authorizes such Financial Agreements ...
IT DOES NOT REQUIRE SUCH AGREEMENTS!!!
Misuse of the law??? HMMMMM by whom???
You decide ???

There were no real businesses displaced
other than a few Municipal, County Government
offices ... Anderson being one of them ...
he received millions for the displacement
and still is trying to lease or sell his portion
of property across from the Public Works.
Yeah, somebody is certainly making loads
of money? Getting tax abatements that
not a single resident will ever see in their
time as a Stafford Resident ...
the attention given the recent Water Bill
was funny if not sad ... when the Stafford
Business Park was being shoved down
our throats? Impacting town residents
in ways yet to be invented, where were
they??? We are talking MILLIONS
IN the original agreement was not dependent
upon Stafford providing any PROPERTY TAX
BREAK FOR THE PROJECT IT BECAME JUST
ANOTHER TWIST OF THE ARMS OF TOWN
OFFICIALS ... AND THEY CAVED ...
NOTE: THE ORIGINAL AGREEMENT MAKES
NO MENTION OF TAX RELIEF!
Look into Stafford Properties Urban Renewal, LLC
that will own the Commercial Development?
while obligated ... this "shell" was done to make it
appear that the developer is only agreeing to the
development in return for receiving the tax break.
WHERE IN FACT WALTERS WAS ALREADY OBLIGATED
WITHOUT ANY SUCH TAX BREAK ...
MAYORS AND COUNCIL MUST PAY WITH THEIR ROLES
AND AS FUTURE CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE!!!
VOTE THEM OUT COME NOVEMBER 6TH, 2012

I am running with (Independent) Democratic-Republicans Scott Neuman and Tracy Caprioni for the seat that is open to election on November 6th for the NJ Third Congressional District.
We have joined together to restore the application of the Constitution - the WHOLE Constitution, and to seek out, expose, and excise any local, county, State, and National corruption we can find.
Our proposal, the "Change the Rules" Pledge, offers a solution to campaign finance reform that circumvents the Supreme Court decision of Citizens United v. Federal Election Board.
I would welcome the opportunity to speak with the people of your community. Less than a month remains.
