During public comment, a BHW resident asked about the funding that has so far been DENIED by ourRead Moreins urance company which was supposed to REPAY the costs to build the extravagant community center projects approved by this mayor and council. The resident was swiftly CORRECTED by Mr Moran as receiving misinformation on the subject. Mr Moran is correct. We ALL have received misinformation on this topic. But not by the newspapers or "other sources" he referred to but out of Mr Moran's own mouth at multiple twp meetings. Mr Moran would like you to believe his words are being mischaracterized. Perhaps he should remember these meetings are televised and archived on the twp website so it leaves him little room to dispute what we're hearing and seeing him say. Mr Moran stated at THIS meeting we have received around $140k so far from our insurance claim on the damaged Millcreek center but also states we haven't signed off on that money for fear of losing future appeals to receive more. So we've received NOTHING. He states we are waiting on Fema money. Waiting means we've received NOTHING. The only money we know we have received is a $250k donation from Alec Baldwin but that is certainly shy of the 2.3 MILLION dollars they've approved to construct the TWO new centers. So which is it, Mr Moran, because you can't have it both ways. Either you have the money or you don't. You can be as creative as you want to with your words but nothing you say will ever detract from the "jumping the gun" actions taken by this mayor and council where these centers are concerned. But don't take my word for it. Roll the beautiful bean footage of all of the previous twp meetings from this year and watch yourself as you tell us conflicting information and then explain to us again how we're mischaracterizing ANYTHING that's coming out of your own mouth.

So let's look at the math, I think we need to look at the numbers to put it all into perspective.Read More W e've received $140k. On average, loss recovery has been anywhere from 0% to 25%. The % received has to be about 28% or more because Mr. Moran also stated that we did not meet our excess loss coverage which was $500k. This means the loss has to be a % that when calculated would fall below $500k mark, so mathematically taking the $140k received and divided by the % received 28% gives you $500k exactly. If FEMA gives you 90% of that number, the loss of the old building not new ones, which Mr. Moran “hopes” the twp. will receive, that's only $450k and that amount will be reduced by what the carrier paid out, ($140k) so max amount that could be received would only be $450k, plus what Baldwin gave, $250k now you have a total of $700k that you can possibly get. This all again is predicated on an “if”, according to Mr. Moran. But wait there's more. Between lawyers and Engineers at $100/hr (I wish) we can be assured that those costs would accumulate to $50k easily. $2.3M less $700k plus $50k = $1.65M. How is that even close to being paid for by grants and insurance? The answer, it's not. Who is going to get that bill for the difference, the tax payers are. I can go all day long at this. The facts don’t lie Mr. Moran. Also for the record, cashing that check for $140k will not negate the potential claim, nor disqualify you from appealing the outcome of the claim. Cashing the check does not constitute agreement of the settlement of the claim. They need a signature to do that, my understanding is, that’s the law. The council should strongly consider putting these centers on hold now that they know they can't afford them and wait until there is funding. Needs vs. Wants.
