I completely agree. I live around the corner from the home on Starboard ave. I have been told thatRead Moret he homeowner lost the home so he came by and smashed the windows and destroyed the outside. The cops were called and the man told them that he owned the home and they drove away!!! I have called the township several times over things like this. Just recently some kids came by and spray painted in the street in front of my neighbors house it looked awful and trashy, no one from the town would even bother to call me back so I wrote an email to the head guy, the administrator. It was cleaned the very next day. I truly feel like no one cares about these problems in the township. I also wrote an email to the mayor about that joke of a park by the high school. It is always a mess. She blamed the fact that it was by the high school for the mess left by bored teenagers. Such a shame.

Cosmo I agree! Lamp Post Drive has also become a speedway for drivers. My young children are oftenRead Morep laying out front and my husband and I have to yell at people to slow down they have to be driving 35 MPH or more, especially in the middle of the night. We always have kids running around too esp in the summer time with no respect that wake up my kids from the screaming and running up and down the street, I usually open my front door and stare them down till they leave because the cops won't do a thing!

Here is an article than ran a while ago on APP. Channel 11 in New York and the shore Patches didRead Mores imilar coverage. The worst culprit of all was Selective insurance Co. (Service provider stooges for the NFIP). I know of several people who were denied claims with a form letter than essentially stated, "structires by earth movement is not covered by flood insurance even if the movement was caused by flooding". Doesn't really make sense, does it? Mike and others, ill try and get you the name of attorney handling this for instance. I believe it's due in court just about now: When the earth moves, insurance is denied | The Asbury Park Press ... www.app.com/article/20130822/.../When-earth-moves-insurance-denied Aug 23, 2013 - ... by earth movement even if the earth movement is caused by flood,” ... cracks a house's foundation, that damage is not covered by insurance. Why isn't the agent for the town fighting more for them? Isn't that their job as well? Do we haveRead Morea nswers on that? Normally an agent or broker is the voice of the insured, as they are the insurance experts, especially if they are collecting a commission and/or service fee for the insurance placement. I would think they should have some involvement/responsibility. Wonder what they are doing? On another issue regarding Selective, from an informal poll of my full-time neighbors who had Selective, their policies were sold to them by a local agent without Contents coverage. I'm not sure what their recourse was to replace their damaged property, but I know initially they said they didn't have that coverage. Hope that was documented that they were at least offered the coverage and then refused it with good reason. Again, there's a responsibility an agent has to provide sound advice as a professional.

redm18,yes I agree. But when the agent is Van Dyke or Anderson it seems that they forget who youRead Moreare . They just like collecting the commission. I would never recommend either. They are both the worst agents I have ever seen and they have -0- customer service.

Thank you Ms Taylor. I don't have a problem with the sign "Welcome to Barnegat" I thinkRead Moret he problem is having Twp employees, and trucks erecting the sign on Mr walters property. You would think with all the favors Mr walters receives from this town, he would erect the sign himself. According to what I just read in the Sandpaper, the following took place: Dave Breeden contact the Read Moreschool superintendent "to say that Mayor Susan McCabe, Deputy Mayor Martin Lisella and Committeeman Albert Bille would be attending the board meeting, and that the mayor "would make brief remarks to the whole board during public comment regarding the Edwards School". I was unable to come to the meeting because I work evenings. I would really like to understand more Read Moreon this issue. Mike you are helping me understand more & more about things going on. The problem I am having with all of this is first, we have bad bonds that have been put on the community to pay via our water bill. My taxes are going up and up and up. We have empty stores all over the place. I am having more and more trouble keeping up with my bills due to all prices going up. Where do they keep expecting people to pull the money from? I am a single mom I'm very lucky to be working and get child support. I by no means use my situation as an excuse. Why not take this 2 million dollars and pay your bad bonds. Give the residents a break. I can't keep paying for mistakes down the road. I work in a local eatery and I can't say to my customers oh the last guy didn't tip me right so I'm going to add it to your check?? I mean people would be outraged. I feel helpless and I feel we are bullied. How can we fix things? How do we get past the secret society of town hall? I work I pay my taxes and I want to live in a nice community. I just don't see how much longer I can hang in before I can't pay my mortgage because taxes keep going up. I may just sell my home and get out of dodge. Of course my home is not worth as much since the big bubble bursted!!

Sim, the average salary in out township for a family is $68k a year. If you take into consideration Read Morethat anywhere from 4k to 10k of it is eaten up by taxes it doesn't take a mathematician to realize that there is a problem here. Taxes increased 18% last year. How painful is that? What did you get for 18%...ummm nothing. The council continues to state that they have reduced our bond debt each year, and they continue to do so. Hard to believe when they just passed $7.5M dollars more of spending. I would like them to show me how the debt is being reduced when spending is increasing. It has to come from somewhere, can't have one without the other. Ultimately we have to decide that the folks in office now are not good for us and then vote them out. It's not hard, but is time consuming. We have to have a better mouse trap then they do in order to convince voters that there is something better. I really don't know any of the folks on the council personally so I do not think that they are all bad per se', although there are a few. So it has to be about facts and figures in order to change the regime.
