I've been complaining to code enforcement for years about my neighbors, but it's still a mess. IRead Moreagr ee they need to be find continually until they keep their mess in the garage or shed.
Who's That April 22, 2014 at 09:00 PM
Thank you to all who have respectfully replied and have spoken up. It's nice to see others in town Read Moreare also in agreement with the blog subject matter.. I urge those of you who have friends, neighbors and acquaintances in town who may be living next to or in the vicinity of problematic properties to pass this along and inspire others to reply to this topic as well. The more folks respond and get the word out the better it will be for everyone. I would not be surprised if any Real Estate brokers or Realtors reply too - as I am certain they too have concerns when trying to list or sell properties for their clients. The thing is, the problem is like a disease, starts with 1-2 properties, then 5-7, then 12+ and the next thing you know, people are leaving the Town because of such problems and degradation. If these issues are not rectified sooner than later, the Town will be plagued with major issues. We, as a township need to bring these issues to resolution if the town is to start improving - regardless of political affiliation, politics and/or what has NOT been done in the past. Elaine Taylor - Thank you for "listening" and please stand by your word that you and the Twp. Code Officer will drive through town, making notes of violations of truly problematic properties. I'm also puzzled as to why if townsfolk ARE in fact calling the Township Office, why their phone calls or emails are going without resolution or if true, being ignored. Barnegat Blvd. is really a "Main Street" and/or thoroughfare through a large part of the town and winding developments. To have as many problematic homes on this Blvd., doesn't appeal to parents, potential buyers of homes or Clientele who may be seeking to start or move a business to the area. When performing your drive-bys, please REALLY look on both sides of the streets... The OBVIOUS problematic properties will be those that are blatant eyesores or code violators when viewing from the street. Cosmos Kramer - thank you for the support and hopefully this blog will start a movement and it will gain some momentum by "getting some legs" as you have stated!!
Cosmo Kramer April 23, 2014 at 07:14 AM
Absolutely @Who'sThat. I think your idea of asking a few real estate agents is a good one. TheyRead Morewoul d have specific addresses of homes they had trouble with while trying to list a neighboring home. As far as Elaine Taylor's comment, could we get a follow up after you take a ride with zoning officer? I also find it troubling that we would have to provide addresses when there are blatant violations littered through out the town that this person "missed". I know if I ignored my responsibilities at work, my boss wouldn't hold my hand and help me take care of them. I appreciate the proactive approach you have taken to this though. There are some people on here that mostly dis credit the comment sections of this website. I do see people had attacked you. I'm glad you took the high road and will be looking into this issue further. And as many have stated, you will not have to look hard.

Trash at the docks has been a problem for years! The township need regular trash pick up there asRead Morew ell as more trask cans for people too put the trash in them. We also need people to take pride in their town.

Randy Fluke April 21, 2014 at 08:14 PM
OK , CPO Rob and very nice. the trash cans are emptied by waste management , as well as the Read Moredumpsters which folks throw their household and yard trash in because they most likely do not want a trash can sitting in front of their pretty little house, the dockmaster has a list of chores and as new ones come they learn what it takes to keep the dock running and clean, also their are things called BIRDS who have a habit of diving the trash, maby you would like to hang around all day and shoo them away like the dockmaster with a flyswatter keeping the greenheads away from you and all els on the dock.I don't know if you posted that , if not check the other blog.

This gets me very concerned and angry. I worked for the State for 26 years at a reduced salary for Read Morethree reasons; 1) health benefits, 2) job security, 3) THE PENSION! To say it is an entitlement is wrong, it was a contractual agreement for the worker. He does not need his pension to live, I do.
Jack Doyle April 22, 2014 at 04:11 PM
On the other hand look up the word "entitles" means someone EARNED it and the benefitRead Morecann ot be taken away for any reason- it is contractual. Civil service laws were passed to assure legal GUARANTEES of the codified "entitlements"and cannot be plundered because an elected phoney official wants it that way.

Here is an article than ran a while ago on APP. Channel 11 in New York and the shore Patches didRead Mores imilar coverage. The worst culprit of all was Selective insurance Co. (Service provider stooges for the NFIP). I know of several people who were denied claims with a form letter than essentially stated, "structires by earth movement is not covered by flood insurance even if the movement was caused by flooding". Doesn't really make sense, does it? Mike and others, ill try and get you the name of attorney handling this for instance. I believe it's due in court just about now: When the earth moves, insurance is denied | The Asbury Park Press ... www.app.com/article/20130822/.../When-earth-moves-insurance-denied Aug 23, 2013 - ... by earth movement even if the earth movement is caused by flood,” ... cracks a house's foundation, that damage is not covered by insurance. Why isn't the agent for the town fighting more for them? Isn't that their job as well? Do we haveRead Morea nswers on that? Normally an agent or broker is the voice of the insured, as they are the insurance experts, especially if they are collecting a commission and/or service fee for the insurance placement. I would think they should have some involvement/responsibility. Wonder what they are doing? On another issue regarding Selective, from an informal poll of my full-time neighbors who had Selective, their policies were sold to them by a local agent without Contents coverage. I'm not sure what their recourse was to replace their damaged property, but I know initially they said they didn't have that coverage. Hope that was documented that they were at least offered the coverage and then refused it with good reason. Again, there's a responsibility an agent has to provide sound advice as a professional.
Mike Mazzucca April 14, 2014 at 10:17 AM
redm18,yes I agree. But when the agent is Van Dyke or Anderson it seems that they forget who youRead Moreare . They just like collecting the commission. I would never recommend either. They are both the worst agents I have ever seen and they have -0- customer service.

Thank you Ms Taylor. I don't have a problem with the sign "Welcome to Barnegat" I thinkRead Moret he problem is having Twp employees, and trucks erecting the sign on Mr walters property. You would think with all the favors Mr walters receives from this town, he would erect the sign himself. One another note, you are doing a great job, keep up the good work.It appears you are alone on the board. What ever happened to your running mate? We all know Marty and silly Billi are cons and Lenny, well he is just Lenny. Is it true that some guy might be running as an independent-----I sure hope so. According to what I just read in the Sandpaper, the following took place: Dave Breeden contact the Read Moreschool superintendent "to say that Mayor Susan McCabe, Deputy Mayor Martin Lisella and Committeeman Albert Bille would be attending the board meeting, and that the mayor "would make brief remarks to the whole board during public comment regarding the Edwards School".
