Annual Blessing of the Animals

St. Francis of Assisi Parish will be celebrating the feast of their patron saint beginning Saturday, September 29 at 10:00am with the annual Blessing of the Animals on the lawn in front of St. Francis Church at 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach. The friars and sisters will say a few brief words about our animal friends and then the animals will be blessed and presented with a special Francis medal to put on their collar or cage. The event is open to all.

Masses on Saturday and Sunday in the parish churches located in Brant Beach, Surf City, and Beach Haven will also honor St Francis.

On Wednesday, October 3rd, 7:00 PM at the Brant Beach church, there will be a special service called the Transitus.  The transitus is a celebration to mark St. Francis’ passage from this earthly life to everlasting life.  It is a beautiful way to celebrate our Franciscan spirit and to honor the humble man who is the patron saint of our parish.  We hope you will join us for this special tradition.
