Fourth Annual Wings Over LBI Day Coming Up This Weekend

Event will feature a number of family-friendly events.

March 9 marks the “Fourth Annual Wings over Long Beach Island Day."


This event will feature a number of activities including: 
10 a.m. – Welcome 
Barnegat Lighthouse Visitor Center, Broadway, Barnegat Light 
Throughout the day, members of the Southern Ocean Birding Group will be stationed along the Lighthouse’s jetty with binoculars and scopes to help the public locate and identify birds and to answer birding questions.

11 a.m. - Four Seasons of Birding on Long Beach Island. 
Long Beach Island Foundation for the Arts and Sciences, 120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies, NJ 
Join Susan Puder, author of New Jersey Birds and Beyond to learn to identify birds, find out why Long Beach Island is such an important area to view birds, and birds that can be found on the Island through the four seasons.

After the presentation, Susan Puder will be selling and signing copies of her book. Bird viewing will be available at the Foundation’s elevated platform, which overlooks some of the last natural marshes remaining on Long Beach Island. Fee$5

1 p.m., Winter Birds of Barnegat Inlet 
Barnegat Lighthouse Visitor Center: 
Fred Lesser of the Ocean County Parks Department presents on winter birds.
