LBI Thank You Fest To Feature Nationally-Known Acts

Sean Kingston and Nick Clemons to play this weekend.

Two nationally-recognized musicians - Sean Kingston and Nick Clemons - will perform this weekend at Long Beach Island's Thank You Fest.

"Everybody wanted to be invoved in this," said Bill Hutson, who is the owner of Lorry's Motel and one of the festival committee members. "It's a big thank you to all the first responders who helped us during Sandy."

Hutson said 762 people on the island were saved during the storm by numerous first responders, including the National Guard, members of the Louisiana State Police - who came up to New Jersey to help as a thank you for the help they recieved after Katrina - and of course, the hundreds of area first responders who spent weeks on cots to help restore life on the island.

This island-wide event - which Hutson said was the brainchild of Long Beach Township Mayor Joseph Mancini -  will transform LBI into a huge reopening party, with free admission.

The event will feature craft vendors, festival foods and music from area bands as well as Kingston - who is widely known for his double-platinum breakout hit "Beautiful Girls, and Clemons - an American musician and the eldest son of Clarence Clemons.
