Kate Krier, a Stafford resident, volunteered to help out with the effort, and she said "the support in the community is amazing. Hundreds of people have reached out in a very short period of time, with food, their time, and supplies."
Krier gave total credit for coordinating the event to Melanie Magaziner, a Mallard Island resident who has been coordinating all efforts involving food collection.
