St. Francis Food Pantry Moves Back to Long Beach Island

Pantry had been operating in Manahawkin after being forced to move due to damage from Sandy.

The St. Francis Food Pantry will be moving back to the Community Center today, Friday, January 18.

The food pantry had been operating at the Southern Ocean Service Center on Route 9 in Manahawkin after Sandy, but yesterday, a team of interns from the Lakewood BlueClaws helped restock the LBI location. 

The Pantry is open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and continues to assist those affected by Sandy.

From January to July of 2012, St. Francis Food Pantry assisted 2,154 families: 2,824 children and 4,693 adults. Donations are always welcome and can be dropped of St. Francis Community Center. Spaghetti sauce, cereal, rice, juice, peanut butter, jelly, hygiene products and diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6) are items that are needed the most.
