The Poe Mysteries on Barnegat Stage

Ocean Professional Theatre Company brings Poe's detective tales to life.

For the next four days, Ocean Professional Theatre Company presents The Poe Mysteries. 

Edgar Allen Poe’s great detective C. Auguste Dupin, is retired and a recluse. An American journalist, Henry Williams of the New York Herald, interviews him about his escapades and adventures as the world’s greatest detective.

Throughout the course of the play, Dupin recounts three of his most famous cases, from the double murder in a locked house, to the disappearance of a young women and the secrets locked in a stolen letter,  and as he does, the characters of each case spring to life on the stage.

Six multi-talented actors will play more than 50 characters in three of Poe’s most famous mysteries in this tale, which is an adaptation by James Rana, based on Poe's first moderd detective sories: Murders in the Rue Morgue," "The Mysetry of Maie Roget and "The Purloined Letter." 

The show starts today at 3 p.m. at the Bengal Auditorium at Barnegat High School, and matinee and evening performances are availabe. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.
