Power Supposed To Be Restored For Most Customers

Customers still in the dark are eligible for free water and ice.

Jersey Central Power & Light was to restore power to the majority of its 13,000 New Jersey customers without power by Sunday night, according to a press release issued by company spokesperson Ron Morano.

Isolated, individual outages may last until Monday. Atlantic Electric reported no more than 35 outages in southern New Jersey as of 4 p.m. Sunday.

By 3 p.m. on Sunday, power had been restored to all but 3,794 residents in Monmouth County. Freehold Township, Freehold Borough and Howell account for 3,209 of those currently without service.

About 1,000 customers in Brick and Toms River were still in the dark as of 4 p.m. Sunday.

JCP&L customers without power in Ocean County can receive one bag of ice and two gallons of water for free at the following grocery stores:
