Coach Danielle Levi Helps Others Train for Life

By day, Danielle Levi serves as a teacher at Ocean Acres Elementary School in Manahawkin, building a better world, one student at a time. By night, she transitions into a humble, yet fierce athlete at Ares Athletic Club (Home of CrossFit A-Game and A-Game Kids).

Levi is also a certified CrossFit Level-1 coach, helping to forge elite fitness both in the current state with our adult members, as well as the future through our kids programs.

She is also a friend and a mentor. Levi wears many hats at Crossfit A-Game. More than anything, however, she wants you and your children to come and join our community, our family. She wants to you join because she knows how awesome you can be, even before you do.

“Since becoming a coach (in June of 2013) I have had to push myself harder, and I recently competed in my first event, which was awesome,” Levi said. “I enjoy coaching the adults because I know what they’re capable of, even before they do because I have been there. I have been where they are.”

When she was first introduced to CrossFit, Levi admits she couldn’t even lift a barbell. Now, less than three years later, she has not only made tremendous strides physically, but the progress she has made in her life outside the walls of A-Game is even more measurable.

“I am no longer afraid. I no longer fear taking on things or confronting issues in my life that I previously would have hesitated on or hid from,” Levi said. “CrossFit has brought me so much. It has brought me friendships, it has brought me confidence.”

That confidence easily parlays into her role as Miss Danielle, the fun-loving CrossFit Kids coach here at A-Game.

“I enjoying coaching the kids because it allows me to see them and experience them in a different environment after teaching academics all day long,” Levi said.

While it might appear to be ‘fun and games’ for our most youthful members, there are a myriad of other benefits to enrolling your children in our CrossFit Kids classes, apart from the obvious physical gains.

“So many of our kids came in quiet and shy, and it has been awesome to see their personalities and confidence blossom,” Levi said. “But aside from that, the type of programming involved in CrossFit kids truly enhances a child’s brain activity.

She added that many of the children were also enlisted in either physical or occupational therapy sessions for muscle weakness prior to joining CrossFit A-Game Kids. Since many of them enrolled, “they have been either reduced in services or dismissed from services altogether, which is amazing.”

Whether you or your family is considering joining the CrossFit A-Game family, Levi invites you to come try us on for size – we can offer you a free week for you and your kids. “When I work with the adults I know if I can push them to the brink, and even out of their comfort zone, they will get the moves eventually. They might not know it yet, but I do,” Levi said. “On the flip side, I enjoy watching the kids develop and grow – and have fun doing it.

“That’s why I do this. That’s why I love it.”
