Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce To Have Daily Radio Show During Summer

Daily morning show began on Memorial Day and will run through Labor Day


The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce "LBI Region Report" is going daily for the summer on WBNJ 91.9FM  to inform visitors and highlight local talent, a Chamber of Commerce official said.

The radio program - which ran weekly during the off-season - recently took home a New Jersey Tourism Excellence Award at for Partnerships and Public Relations during the New Jersey Tourism Conference held at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.

The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce began their weekly radio show on WBNJ FM days after Superstorm Sandy hit the region to inform community and visitors about the rebuilding and resilience of the local businesses.

Now in its second season, the landmark radio show featuring Lori Pepenella, Destination Marketing & Communications Director for the 100-year-old business organization and William Clanton Jr, producer of WBNJ will turn the weekly show that airs each Monday morning into a beach bbq style showcase.

The comfortable, backyard style will featuring summer tunes, themed weeks and Southern Ocean County Chamber member guests promoting what their favorite things to do in the area during the summer and into the fall, Pepenella said.

The summer schedule will air on 91.9FM Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. It began on Memorial Day and will run through Labor Day.
