WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

Coming up first thing today is a story on the National Hurricane Center's finding that Irene, which wreaked havoc up and down the east coast in Septmember, was not in fact a hurricane when she came ashore in Ocean County.

We've also got reports out of the Barnegat Board of Education's December meeting – one on the cost of the mold remediation at the Collins School and an update from the district's anti-bullying coordinator on how schools are implementing new state requirements.

MEETINGS:

  • The ADA Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m. in the municipal courtroom.

 

EVENTS AND REMINDERS:

  • 's Band and Chorus concert is at 7 p.m. today at the school.
  • The 's Teen Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. at the library. The community service group is open to teens in grades 7 through 12, who are invited to share ideas and plan fun library programs.

 

WEATHER:

  • Today: Periods of rain, mainly after 11 a.m. High near 58. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 14 mph increasing to between 19 and 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Tonight: Periods of rain, mainly before 1 a.m. Low around 48. Breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
