Good morning, everybody. Today is Tuesday, Feb. 21 – happy Mardi Gras!

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

First up, we've got news of the arrest of a Barnegat man late last week whom police say caused an accident while driving drunk and left the scene.

EVENTS:

  • The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce NJ's Veterans Assistance will be at the County Connection office at the Ocean County Mall, 1210 Hooper Ave., Toms River, from 10 a.m. until noon today to provide information on employment assistance, health services and other benefits available to eligible veterans.

WEATHER:

  • Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 48. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south between 14 and 17 mph. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
  • Tonight: A chance of showers, mainly before 10 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
