WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

On the way this morning is a photo gallery out of last night's lifeguard tournament in Ship Bottom. Some great athletes from guard teams from around the Shore were there, and choppy conditions made for some dramatic races.

Also coming up is the next in regular contributor Christine Scheller's series profiling local religious institutions. This week, she dropped in on services at Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church.

MEETINGS:

  • The Senior Advisory Board meets at 10 a.m. in the courtroom.
  • The Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. in the courtroom.

 

EVENTS:

  • The 's  meets at 3 p.m. today. The monthly club for kids ages 10-15 gives attendants the chance play board games and video games. Feel free to bring your own game along.
  • The  at the library is New in Town, screening at 6:30 p.m. In this 2009 film, Renee Zellweger plays a Miami businesswoman adjusting to life in a small Minnesota town.
  • Onstage at Surflight Theatre on LBI is Yasmina Reza's internationally acclaimed . Get tickets for a 2 p.m. matinee or an 8 p.m. show. 

 

WEATHER: 

Last night's showers, however brief, did manage to cool things down some. No more rain in the forecast for the rest of the week.

  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Northwest wind around 8 mph. 
  • Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. West wind between 3 and 6 mph.
