Good morning, everybody. Today is Thursday, March 1.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

First up this morning is an update on the closing of Sears and Kmart stores around the country. According to parent company Sears Holdings, local outlets have been spared in the latest round of closures.

EVENTS:

  • At 10:30 a.m., the Stafford Library hosts "Revolutionary Tea: An 18th Century Tea Experience." The historical program features Stacy Roth of “History on the Hoof,” who will reveal in first-person living history why tea was so important in the 18th century. Call 609-597-3381 to register. 
  • The Barnegat Chamber of Commerce gathers at Lefty's for a meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All are welcome, particularly business owners looking to learn more about the Chamber.

  • Today: A chance of rain or drizzle before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 a.m. and noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Light wind becoming west between 12 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. North wind between 5 and 11 mph.
