Barnegat Morning Report, May 3

Good morning, Barnegat! Today is Thursday, May 3.

Hundreds of residents gathered at Barnegat Boulevard last night for a vigil in honor of Kyle McGetrick, 12, of Barnegat, who passed away Tuesday, after a drawn-out battle with cancer. We will have the story for you soon.

Also, yesterday Relay For Life's annual fundraising campaign kicked off into high gear, with a bank meeting at the TD Bank in Barnegat, where the town's teams deposited their early round of donations and signed up for Relay for Life activities.

Finally, look for a profile of a cheerleading team which won first place in two national competitions, and hopes to do so again this Saturday. The team practices in West Creek, but many of the kids and the coaches are from Barnegat.
