WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

Both candidates running for the open 9th Legislative District Senate seat have weighed in on the campaign and a number of topics, so we'll be bringing you our promised story on that race today.

Also coming up is our look at the Barnegat Township Committee candidates' campaign finances, based on their reports to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.

EVENTS AND REMINDERS:

• The  hosts a book cafe today at 7 p.m. Come talk about recent books you've read or just listen and pick up some new recommendations.

• There's another free "NAMI Basics" course at the Stafford Library, 129 N. Main St., Manahawkin, continues at 6:15 today. The National Alliance on Mental Illness hosts the workshop for caregivers of kids with mental illness. The course is taught by trained instructors and details how to care for and help both the affected child and the family.
