BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Woman Arrested For Hit And Run

Other arrests for drugs also reported.

A 47-year-old Barnegat woman was arrested after she allegedly struck a parked car in front of 32 Bayside Avenue and left the scene.

Michelle Ciani was arrested on July 15, at 2:19 p.m., after an investigation suggested Ciani's vehicle was involved the accident.

Ciani was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to submit a breath sample, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. Patrolman Nicholas Dapuzzo was the arresting officer.

Cianni was released on her own recognizance pending a court date.

Also, a 20-year-old man was taken into custody for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Scott Conklin, of Barnegat was arrested on July 14 at 2:41 a.m.  after he was observed by Barnegat Patrolman Robert Armstrong parked in the Russel O. Brackman School parking lot. Armstrong conducted a consent search using his canine partner, Bullet, who indicated the presence of a controlled dangerous substane in the vehicle.

Conklin was released on his own recognizance.

Also, a fight at Mast Drive on July 7 resulted in the arrests of a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old for possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Around 7 p.m.. Patrolmen Richard Carr and Dapuzzo responded to the scene of a fight, which involved "multiple subjects," according to Barnegat Police Lieutenant Keith Germain.

During the investigation, Dapuzzo discovered the two juveniles were in possession of the marijuana. Both juveniles were released to their parents.
