Big Headlines, Barnegat Focus

Morning, everybody.

Busy day on the way. We've been talking about bringing you the latest on the township's tax reassessments for a couple days now, and that's coming your way shortly. 

I'll also be heading to the A&P on Route 9 this morning to talk to shoppers about the news that the Barnegat grocery is one of 32 of the company's stores in six states that will be closing its doors soon, probably in spring, according to recent reports. We'll also have details from the company itself, and reaction from a local union leader.

In addition, we'll offer a local take on the Christie administration's controversial announcement yesterday of plans to tie teacher tenure to student performance.

On top of that, we've got our regular Thursday weekend-planning and house-hunting features in the mix.

A bit of beautiful weather is upon us. Mostly sunny today (eventually!) with a high of 58; partly sunny Friday with a high of 56. Enough to make you feel like spring is right around the corner.
