- Barnegat Township offices are closed today, Monday, Jan. 16 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There will be regular trash collection for those with Route 1 pickup.
- The kicks off a three-part commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in film today, Monday, Jan. 16. The library's regular Movie Mondays will feature a trio of famous Civil War films for the next three weeks, starting today at 1 p.m. with Glory (R), which follows the first formal unit of the U.S. Army made up of African American men.
- The Barnegat Township Board of Education meets Tuesday, Jan. 17 in the auditorium.
- At 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, the Barnegat Education Foundation hosts "BeatleMania Again." The fundraising concert features four talented artists performing the Beatles' greatest hits onstage. The show follows the foursome's journey from the Ed Sullivan Show through the psychadelic years to the days of Abbey Road and Let It Be. - The township will hold a free rabies clinic Saturday at the . Cats will be acepted from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; dogs from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
