Let's Get Down to Business

Today we're talking taxes and school boards

Good morning, Barnegat.

The varsity cheerleaders returned last night to a welcome party of parents and friends after the girls again took third place in their division at the National High School Cheerleading Championship over the weekend.

Today, we'll have a story on the details of the competition, with input from coach Shannon Smith and high school athletic director John Germano.

Also in the works is a look at the status of the township's property reassessments. Homeowners in town received letters detailing the adjustments over the last few months, but many have said they were frustrated by the process of questioning or appealing their reassessments.

We'll also preview tonight's Board of Education meeting, where the board will vote on the already once-rejected motion to reapprove two Special Resource Officers for the district.

Students who received perfect scores on the NJASK test last year will get special recognition from the board at the meeting.

As for the weather, well, the love affair couldn't last. Yesterday's gusty winds will stick around today, but the warmth won't – forecasters are calling for a high of 36 degrees.

Come back and check in with us when you can!
