Meeting Previews for Tuesday, April 12

Board of Ed and Zoning Board meet this evening.

Here's a quick look at the agendas for two upcoming meetings in the township.

The Barnegat Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. at the high school – the last regular meeting before BOE elections.

In the agenda's district highlights are nods to sports teams – including the varsity cheerleaders, who appeared on WPIX Channel 11's morning show yesterday in New York – and recipients of teacher/staff of the year awards.

The board will address a motion to increase funds allocated to a study of the Edwards School land titles by $2,500 to $10,000 – apparently required in order to gain clear title to the property.

The Governance Committee will address a motion to approve and adopt several policies and policy changes, including regarding the use of physical restraint on pupils.

The Zoning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. today in the municipal court room. The agenda is brief; the Board will review a use variance application by Pinto Land Management regarding the storage of solid waste trucks and containers on the site of the Route 72 Gulf gas station. A decision on the variance is due by the end of the week.

The Board will also address bulk variances for two adjacent Habitat for Humanity sites on Harpoon Drive.
