No Opening Date Yet for Waretown Library

The weekend's program cancelled, book drop-off closed following a car accident last week.

After a car getting out of a parking spot near the Waretown library facility hit slammed into the building Friday, the library remains closed "until further notice."

"We thank all our customers for their patience and we are working diligently to re-open the branch," Andolsen said. "As soon as we have word that Waretown will open we will send out notifications via the Barnegat and Lacey Branches, the media, our website, www.theoceancountylibrary.org,  Twitter @oceancountylib and Facebook- Ocean County Library."

The Waretown library cancelled its regular programming, which included  “Mother’s Day Dedication,” an event scheduled for Saturday, May 12. The library staff urges patrons to pick up and drop off their books at nearby locations at the branches in Barnegat and Lacey, as the book drops are closed in Waretown at this time.

"Waretown customers will not be charged for overdue items during the branch closure," Andolsen said.
