Township to Residents: Prepare for Damaging Winds

Wind gusts up to 60 mph expected Saturday until 9 p.m.

In an e-mail alert Saturday morning, the township warned residents that high winds could get destructive in the area.

The township is advising residents to secure outside items and be prepared for possible power outages as a result of the gusty winds.

The National Weather Servcie has issued a high wind warning for most of the state, including the township, in anticipation of potentially damaging winds today and tonight.

A sustained west wind of between 25 and 35 mph will continue Saturday with gusts up to 60 mph. The strong winds will continue tonight, with gusts up to 50 mph. 

The strongest winds will occur between noon and 9 p.m. Saturday, according to weather reports.
