VIDEO: Nor'easter Pounds Manahawkin, LBI Area; What Happened With Barge?

There were reports that a barge threatened to take out the west side bridge leading to Long Beach island

The "Saturn" Nor'easter pounded away at Long Beach Island, Manahawkin and Barnegat Wednesday, catching many by surprise and causing some flooding in the area.

Bay Avenue was under water, observers say, and there were reports that a barge threatened to take out the west side bridge leading to Long Beach Island.

Sixty-plus-mph winds hit the area. Parking on the northeast side of the causeway bridge was considered a complete hazard. Stafford police had a patrol car watching the area.
