Sandra Brower Did Not Report Possible Sex Abuse Of 4-year-old Pupil, Prosecutor Says

Lacey- The superintendent of Lacey Township Schools was indicted Monday morning on charges she failed to immediately report a possible sexual assault of a 4-year-old special needs student by a teacher and then lied to police and tried to cover up her inaction while she was Wall Township's assistant superintendent, according to the indictment.

Cassegrande Gets Support for Sick Pay Bill

Monmouth County- Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande has introduced a bill that would rein in the use of accrued sick days by retiring public employees.

The bill, A-1943, is backed by the League of Municipalities, according to a release.

Prince Harry to Visit Mantoloking, Seaside Heights

Jersey Shore- Britain's Prince Harry will visit Mantoloking and Seaside Heights during a May 14 visit to New Jersey to survey damage from Superstorm Sandy, a report from The Associated Press said Monday.

Mantoloking Mayor George Nebel said Gov. Christie will accompany the prince on a brief walk down Barnegat Lane – which runs along Barnegat Bay – and then head to Seaside Heights, according to the report.

Forked River Man Killed While Crossing Route 9

Lacey- A Forked River man attempting to cross Route 9 near Game Farm Road was struck and killed on Sunday night, Patrolman George Resetar said.

Geoffrey Stone, 57, whose address is listed as the Lacey Inn in Forked River - was struck by a car driven by Jessica Allen, 26, Forked River. Stone apparently did not heed oncoming traffic when he tried to cross, police said.

DOT Postpones Route 35 Reconstruction

Point Pleasant- The state is postponing Route 35 reconstruction until after Labor Day, a welcome relief to local officials and business people who feared that the work would cause massive traffic delays all summer.

"I'm very happy," said Bay Head Mayor Bill Curtis. "This is more than enough of a change, even if they start the day after Labor Day."

Parkway Exit 105 Reconfiguration Will Begin by End of Summer

Eatontown- The Garden State Parkway Exit 105 reconfiguration project will begin by the "end of summer," according to New Jersey Turnpike Authority Spokesman Thomas Feeney.

The project will also feature one change in response to local concerns. A left-turn lane and traffic signal will be added at the intersection of Wayside Road and Pinebrook Road. This is being done to help ease traffic concerns from the increased amount of people expected to use Wayside Road.

Monmouth Park Looking To Grow Under Second Year of New Ownership

Oceanport- Monmouth Park's second year under the ownership of the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NJTHA) and Darby Development LLC is looking like it will be as productive as 2012.

The park's racing season kicks off on Saturday, May 11 and runs through Oct. 6, and many improvements are planned for this season and the future, NJTHA and Darby Development Advisor Dennis Drazin said during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Family Accused in Murder to Make Court Appearance Thursday

Ocean Township- Two Ocean Township residents allegedly connected to the 2010 death of a Manchester man will appear in Monmouth County court on Thursday, May 9.

Thomas Dorsett will appear in the courtroom of Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Anthony J. Mellaci, Jr., along with his wife Lesley Dorsett and daughter Kathleen Dorsett.
