Christie Administration Joins Jenkinson’s Boardwalk For Summer Hiring Season Kick-Off

The
Jersey Shore will start focusing on a successful
summer beach season this weekend, as state Department of Labor and Workforce
Development (LWD) staff join representatives from Jenkinson's Boardwalk to link
local employers with job seekers interested in summer jobs in this beach
community.

The
annual summer job fair will be held this Sunday, March 9, and again on
Saturday, March 15, from noon to 3 p.m. on both days at the Jenkinson’s
Pavilion Restaurant at 300 Ocean Avenue. LWD staff who will work the event are
volunteering their time to assist in the recruitment.

“With
all the cold weather and snow we’ve been experiencing, it’s time for some
pleasant thoughts of warm weather and fun on the boardwalk,” said Christine
Karaska, and LWD staff and volunteer who has helped to organize job fairs in the
Ocean County community for the past 17 years. “I encourage students, retirees,
teachers on summer break and older workers to come to the Jenkinson’s job fair.
Employers are looking to hire for a variety of positions and will conduct some
interviews on the spot.”
