National Train Day

Celebrate National
Train Day with the Stafford Township Historical Society Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10:00am - 2:00pm.The festivities will
be held at Heritage Park on West Bay Avenue across from Manahawkin Lake, site of the Old Stone Store and Train Station.

National Train Day commemorates the pounding of the Golden Spike on May

10, 1869 in Promontory, Utah completing the transcontinental railroad.

We invite you to pack a picnic, listen to music, and experience
activities from the golden age of trains. Children can take a train ride, all

can learn to play croquet, and enjoy hand churned ice cream in traditional

flavors such as cranberry and cucumber. There will also be a puppet show

starting at 11:00.

The historical buildings will be open and there will be Historical

Society members available to answer questions.

The day promises to be fun for all!
