Insurance Trouble? Tell Christie

Many disaster victims are being left out in the cold, due to the fact that they are not getting their insurance monies.

On Wednesday at 3 p.m at St. Mary of the Pines, Governor Chris Christie will address shore residents of Ocean County - namely Stafford Township - and area towns.

One of the biggest concerns in the community right now is the pace of paid insurance claims, which has been slow to none.

The many residents of the Beach Haven West and coastal communities feel they just been left to foot the bill on their own. Many, at this week's Stafford Townshp meeting, said they "just want to go home."

Many residents have been told: "gut your home, take pictures of contents, all will be well." And many did just that, some hiring legitimate storm contractors, others hiring fly-by-nights who took advantage of their predicament.

Now, many disaster victims are being left out in the cold or at shelters or friends homes. There are no checks in the mail.

People have paid into insurance policies for years, but many are learning now that: one, the money may not be what you are going to get, two, you are going to have hire legal aid to get it. Even worse - you may just have to settle for much less just out of desperation.

Let's face it, people without insurance at this point are better off than people that have paid thousands in premiums. No FEMA money for these people and the SBA loan is all but a joke. These are supposed to be disaster loans and with the requirements, you are more likely to get a loan for a new 40-foot yacht before a loan to get your family back home - this is the Titantic of Insurance.

As if this were not enough and not being addressed, a new storm is on the horizon - FEMA insurance ratables and the new flood maps. As if it couldn't get worse, Stafford Township now has an approaching wave of homes being left, sold, walked away from, or abandonded. Who's going to pick up that tab? FEMA? No. The State? No. Federal government? Good luck. No it will be the ones that stay, the few who can afford what will become an elitist group of shore dwellers. The Jersey coast will become Palm Beach. Wheres the help the President promised while he was on a Hawaiian vacation? With the rest of Congress.

Why isn't anything being addressed? The answer is simple. Wall Street, the banks and insurance are all in bed together.  The New Washington. If  you can afford the answer you will get it.

Below is an insurance database for Gov. Chris Christie that we will present at the meeting in Stafford when he visits next week. Please fill out. You don't have to give your name but it would help. You can tell us what town you live in only if you like but please tell us the name of your insurance company.
